Pool & Garden

The short walk to the pool garden is under heavy shade trees including Judas trees, umbrella pines, lilacs, Tamarix, strawberry trees, viburnums, pomegranite and fruit trees. This area is grassed and we are in the process of planting Mediterranean flowers and shrub beds.

The pool has its own private, secluded and quiet garden which is surrounded by mature almond, bay, and cupressus trees. There is a small wall, fence and gate which can be locked.

Designed with the family in mind, the pool is in the shape of a figure eight (8) and has a shallow end about 1yd/1m deep and a deeper end being about 2yd/2m deep for the bigger boys! There are wide Roman steps down to the pool to help all ages into the water in safety and confidence. The pool is nearly 9.5 yd/m long and 6yd/m at the widest hemisphere and 4.5yd/m at the smallest.

The area round the pool is grassed which we helps "soften and cool" the hot sunny days of the Provence. There are plenty of recliners, tables, chairs and umbrellas.

There is also another large table and chairs in the garden which has been variously used for breakfast in the autumn sunshine, childrens`games after lunch, writing letters and so on.
