Our old mas faces onto a calm courtyard which is enclosed by a high mellow-stoned wall. This is the perfect place for a late breakfast, with croissants bought that morning after a short walk to Castillon, fresh local apricots, cherries and figs. Dinner can be enjoyed here or in one of the local restaurants with prices and styles to fit most taste.
The pergola surrounding the house providing summer shade has many scented climbers, including jasmines, honeysuckles, and wisteria all of which add to the heavy ambiance in the evening. A very old olive dominates the courtyard which has formal flower bed containing Mediterranean plants.
This is a perfect area for young children to play safely with or without parental supervision as it is completely gated and secure. We can provide various garden toys for children.
The house was converted from farm buildings in the 1960's and all the rooms are very large and airy with high ceilings creating space and room to move or to be alone. The salon and dining rooms are dominated by Provençal style fireplaces and there many French antiques, brocante and original paintings and prints to provide a French country atmosphere.
There is a formal dining room with a French antique table and chairs which seats eight and the kitchen table seats eight comfortably. The kitchen is modern and designed by a keen cook for the serious chef. There are good quality 
saucepans, cutlery, glasses and electric microwave, dishwasher, stove, fridge-freezer, coffee-maker, kettle and clothes washer.
Wide stairs lead to the first floor bedrooms and terrace where there are magnificent views of Castillon and the courtyard. The beds and all very comfortable, some are extra long and there is a choice of pillows. The showers are large and there is plenty of hot water! At the end of the terrace is another quiet and private seating area for serious business work - if necessary!
There is approximately 250 sq m (sq yds) of living space - for example the lounge is 5m x 8m, the master bedroom is 4m x 4.5m and the bathroom is 4.5m x 2m and the kitchen is 3m x 8m. The ceilings are 2.5m throughout the house. It is a very spacious house.
